About Us

Behind  Minnies Creation lies the very talented sister team of Minerva “Minnie” Cornejo and Manuela “Manny” Cornejo, working hand in hand for the past 25 years. Growing up in a traditional Mexican household, both sisters realized their creative  potential at a very young age.  Their mother Maria Luisa, a well known tailor for sixty years in 

 Mexico City, instilled in them a strong work ethic and the tools to channel their artistic desires.She discovered very quickly that not only did she love working with beautiful fabrics she had a natural affinity for it as well.   She soon began studying the fine art of tailoring with her mother and in turn designing more elaborate pieces such as suiting. Employing more & more difficult techniques including hand embellishments and pleating.  Always no more than a step behind, Mannie followed Minnie’s lead and soon was developing her talents as well. Under their mothers watchful eye, they learned their skills from a gifted professional.When both sisters were in their early twenties, they were still working side by side. Relocating to Los Angeles, California, they began a career in the garment industry for upscale design houses, including ‘Guess’ & ‘Baby Gap’. Realizing that her creative talent was not being fully utilized, Minnie invested in her first two commercial machines and began working in the Interior Design industry. Pursuing this new passion during their time-off, the sisters would take side jobs, building their clientele and eventually launching their business in 1996.  A full-service Custom Drapery.  Residential, Commercial & Hospitality.

Featuring custom drapery treatments with dressmaker details, roman shades & woven woods.  Fine custom bedding and custom upholstery. Both interior and exterior, working with high-end designers such as, Nancy Iraggi, Barbara Gates, Nancy Nickerson, Tracy Allen, Scott Martin and  in exclusive areas of Los Angeles, CA and it’s surrounding areas. 

In addition, Minnie Creations has worked with recognized designers such as; Jean Klein,  Pam Di Valerio and Shannon Gardner.
